High intensity support can include things like complex bowel care, diabetes management, catheter care, pressure area care, support for people with epilepsy or seizures, mealtime management for swallowing difficulties, and behaviour support needs. Because these tasks require a higher level of expertise, the NDIS classifies them as “high intensity” to ensure participants receive safe, skilled, and appropriate support tailored to their individual requirements.
